Teenager-sexuality

This part might be seen as an overview for guiding teen sexuality. Let’s explore adolescent’s sexuality. Sexuality and adolescence are indissociable. Adolescence is the period of time that lies between 15 and 18 years. Puberty is the beginning of adolescence (early teens sexuality). We will also discuss puberty and sexuality; and show you the better way to inform teens regarding sexuality (or be informed as a teen).

Youth and sexuality are interrelated. We know that sexual problems faced by this age group are: lack of sexual desire, sexual impotence, sexual frigidity, premature ejaculation (brief act), the lack of female orgasm, deviations, sexual perversions, etc. We show you how to overcome them, in order to succeed and be happy.

People have different views on teenager-sexuality. Teen’s sexuality is quite complex. Teen sexuality resources are sometime contradictory. But in this website you will have efficient answers regarding teen questions about sexuality. Here, teen life sexuality is fully explored.

Adults and elders may also experience the above problems. That is why we develop such problems in detail and suggest solutions in the following section: Adult’s sexuality; see the link above. In the meantime, we provide you with some important information:

Teenager-sexuality: some characteristics

Here are some physical, psychological, social and sexual characteristics of adolescence:

Adolescence is a period of pubertal change. It is also a period of transition between childhood and full adoption of adult role. This period involves a physical, mental (emotions and feelings), educational, sexual, financial, relational dimension, etc. Teen questions about sexuality are raised very frequently, but from our own experience some teen sexuality forum or teen sexuality resources do not provide proper answers.

The role of hormones in human sexuality is obvious. A complex set of hormonal changes, brings physical and psychological changes during adolescence. These changes that have begun at age 8 intensify. Estrogen (œstrogens is female hormone) and testosterone (male hormone), define physical and psychological changes. The morphology, size, muscle, fat, vital organs (heart, lungs, etc.), the genitals (vagina, penis and scrotum), physical and psychological behavior, etc., undergo significant modifications. Indeed, there is a rapid growth, a structuration and maturation of all these points.

For girls. Their breasts increase. Breasts and nipples increase, areolae are pigmented and expand. The vulva flourishes, and pubic hair grows. Their hips are larger. Their gluteal region (buttock) increases in muscle mass and fat. Their sexual desire (sex drive) is more intense and lubrications more frequent. The psychological behavior of girls is defined in feminine terms. They are ready to assume their adult sexual identity through heterosexual relationships. Note that girls’ pubertal development appears earlier than boys’. Teen girls sexuality is precocious.

For boys. Their shoulders broader. Their voice becomes deeper. Their penis is bigger (width and length), testicles grow bigger in a larger scrotum. Their pubic hair grows. Their body becomes more muscular. Their sex drive (sexual desire, libido) intensify. Their erections are more frequent. Psychological behavior of boys is defined in masculine terms. They are ready to assume their adult sexual identity in heterosexual relationships. Generally, boy’s pubertal development happens later than girls’. Generally... because variations may occur between countries, culture, education, beliefs, personalities, health conditions, etc. Teen boys sexuality is slower.

The description should look like this:

Health, Sexuality, Money, Human relations. Success and Happiness : Is it possible to live a richer and happier life? Yes! Good health, a flourishing sexuality, a better financial situation and fruitful human relations are within reach.

Bulimia (excessive eating) and anorexia (not eating enough) can undermine this age group; since adolescents are concerned by their body image in relation to what the media offer. See the webpage: Health of the body

Formal thought (deductive logic, systematic resolution of problems, etc.) is acquired. Like the concept of morality (moral reasoning, good and evil, justice, equity, etc.). This will influence teenager-sexuality (the sexual behavior of adolescents). There is a link between teenager-sexuality and their the development of their mental faculties. See the web page: Health of the mind (mental, intellectual)

For adolescents, interpersonal relationships become more flexible, more nuanced and more changeable. Identity crises may happen during adolescence; and redefine their Ego. This is the period of major questioning, commitments, and call into question. Stress and self-esteem occupy an important place. Parents / adolescents interactions may become confrontational (the conflict of generations), although their attachment to their parents is strong. Runaways, crimes (juvenile delinquency), excessive consumption of alcohol and illegal drugs are not excluded. All those facts affect teenager-sexuality.

Depression rate increases during adolescence. This rate is higher among girls than boys. Depressive parents may depress their children. In "developed countries", the suicide rate increases during adolescence. This rate is higher among boys than girls. Suicidal parents may unconsciously push their children to commit suicide. That is why suicide-teen-sexuality is a triangle to be seriously considered.

Peer relationships become very important. Same sex groups (girls-girls or boys-boys) become more and more mix groups (boys and girls). Romantic relationships begin sooner or later depending on the physiology, psychology, cultures, religions, education, etc. Here is a important fact regarding teenager-sexuality: Generally, boys have sexual relation earlier than girls; and they are sexually more active than girls. Generally... here also because variations may occur between countries, culture, education, beliefs, personalities, health conditions, etc.

Parents (or adoptive parents), educators, private institutions, public institutions (government), schools, media and others, contribute to sexual education of teens; and also to sexual education of children, adults or seniors.

It is all about a comprehensive care at all levels of our society. It is a social contract...; a sexual contract... in order to develop everybody’s sexuality; because sexual maturity is synonymous with emotional maturity, and vice versa. See the web page: Emotional Health (feelings, emotions, sentiments)

A lack of information (due to ignorance or negligence, which is the same), misinformation (distortion of sexuality and its image, dissemination of sexual behaviors that do not correspond to the real world) may cause children, youths, adults or elders to suffer from psycho-sexual blockages; to suffer from sexual deviations; to live a poor sexuality (specially teenager-sexuality). And this with all what may follow: poor health (physical and emotional); affective blockages; sexual miseries; financial miseries; social failures (professional, marital, spiritual, etc.); simply put… failure. A flourished sexuality, contributes to success and happiness.

Here also parents and educators should be physically and emotionally healthy, in order to raise teens who will enjoy a flourishing sexuality. See the web page: Health; and also: Health of the soul
