Self-control

To master means: to take control; to tame. It is possible to talk about the mastering of a furious horse or a furious mare...

Someone can control his body, his soul, his spirit and his emotions. Thus, someone can control his life and succeed. To control passions, actions, reactions, emotions and sentiments is not easy.

But it is not difficult. It all depends on how someone envisages it. The way someone envisages it decides the outcome. Anyway, self control is indispensable to anyone who wants to achieve great things and win many victories.

Self-control: for success and happiness

How many people have seen their relationship broken (friends, parents, spouse, children, etc.), for failing to control themselves? How many people have lost property and even their lives, for failing to control themselves?

How many things would be better if people were showing greater self control? How much misery and pain could be avoided if everyone exercised self-control? A lot.

It is possible to exercise self-control. It is even indispensable to exercise it. Any goodwill individual can practice auto-control. Self control is a powerful tool for personal development.

Anyone who exercises self-control, can control his environment. And his entourage immediately recognizes a capable leader. Someone who controls his body, soul, spirit and emotions, succeed where many fail. Such a person tastes happiness brought by success.

Sometime the lack of self-control is due to a lack of communication.

Self-control and the tongue

But do you know what seams to be the most difficult to control? You've guessed it: the tongue. With their tongue some have opened the gates of heaven; but with their tongue many have dug their graves. That is why Scripture says:

"We all stumble in many ways. If anyone is never at fault in what he says, he is a perfect man, able to keep his whole body in check. When we put bits into the mouths of horses to make them obey us, we can turn the whole animal. Or take ships as an example. Although they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are steered by a very small rudder wherever the pilot wants to go. Likewise the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole person, sets the whole course of his life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell. All kinds of animals, birds, reptiles and creatures of the sea are being tamed and have been tamed by man, but no man can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison. With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in God's likeness. Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers, this should not be. Can both fresh water and salt water flow from the same spring? My brothers, can a fig tree bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Neither can a salt spring produce fresh water." Bible (James 3: 2-11). Who says better?

"Taming the Tongue..."

Self-control and your timetable

In setting your schedule, your goals, objectives, projects and their time limit, you did well.

But by working diligently and respecting that schedule, you did better: You have demonstrated auto-control.

You will begin to reap the fruits of your efforts very soon; if you have not already done so.

By following closely the rules and laws we suggest in order to take care of your body, soul, spirit and emotions, you showed great self-control.

Apply these laws to flourish your sexuality, to improve your finances, and to improve your interpersonal relationships; of course. Know that many victories are at your fingertips.

Personal-control also requires that you organize yourself and your business; good planning of your projects. This means: the establishment of an action plan and compliance with that plan. It is also the wisdom of the wise. The practical wisdom. That's what separates the winner of the loser. This is what distinguishes the wise from the fool.

Self-control: Virtues and vices

Here are the weapons of the winner: Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faith (fidelity, confidence), Gentleness, Self control.

And about Love: patience, helpfulness, charitableness, faithfulness, no jealousy and envy, no boasting, no puffing up, avoid what is dishonest and indecent, no self-seeking, no anger, no murder, no meditation on evil, forgiveness, avoid injustice and welcome the truth. These are the qualities of the true winner.

From experiences we know that those virtues and vices are also influenced by the financial situation.
