This section unfolds in two parts: mental health and the development of mental faculties. Health-of-Mind: Mental health This part is on horseback between mental health and emotional health. As we will see, the mind and emotions are very closely linked. That is why it is possible to talk about emotional intelligence or emotional memory. Mental health means: to adapt oneself to the social environment. To adapt oneself to the social environment, in order to contribute to its development and reap useful benefits, is a sign of good mental health. Adaptation to the social environment means: to understand the profound sense of aggressiveness and frustrations generated by that environment; to understand, endure and manage them; but above all to solve them. To adapt to the society means: to adapt oneself to family life, friends, profession; and to maintain healthy relationships. That is why we offer you the section: Human relations. But here are some other signs of good mental health. We know that mental health is also linked to: the health of body, soul, mind and emotions), the harmonious exercise of sexuality, the financial condition... To understand politics, economy, religion (spirituality) and take what is good in them also contribute to have a good mental and physical health. You see? Everything is connected. All these themes have their roles and place in the development of sentiments. All these topics contribute to success and happiness. That is why all these themes are discussed in this website: Health-Sexuality-Money.com Health and the mind are linked. The mind is subjected to laws, just as the body, soul, emotions and human relations (interpersonal relations). It is your duty to learn these laws and to adhere to them; because you can not break the laws of nature without paying the price. The wise studies these laws and adapts to them. The ability to be happy is the capacity and willingness to enjoy useful things in life; to enjoy them wisely. Therefore, mental health is the ability and will to be happy. Happy, with capital H, is our invitation; our wish to you in friendly way and in all sincerity of heart. An active spirit contributes to maintain good mental health. A spirit in constant activity strengthens the body, soul and emotions; matures sentiments, flourishes sexuality and human relations. But it depends on the type of activity. Health-of-Mind: clarity of mind
Health and clarity of mind are linked. The mind influences the body, soul and emotions. The mind can eliminate or induce physical and psychological diseases; ulcers and neuroses, among others. That is why we say: mind, body and health are interconnected. A joyful spirit, a spirit willing to do well, helps to alleviate and eliminate many problems. We have already mentioned concentration and attention in the section: 2) Attention and memory. We have proposed practical and effective exercises. It is possible and even recommended to develop these two faculties: concentration and attention. So, learn to relax your body, your soul and your mind. Learn to be silent in your body, soul and mind. Focus on yourself, gather and channel your ideas toward your goals. Let’s add this: a good concentration eliminates fear, tension and nervous tension. Learning to focus well helps you achieve your goals (physical, intellectual, spiritual, and so on). A person who learns to concentrate well, succeed where many fail. A good concentration and attention open the doors to success and happiness. Concentration and attention are linked to willpower and interest you have for something or someone. When you love an activity, you sharpen your concentration and attention. Learning to listen well, health-of-mind As we have already mentioned in the section: 2) Attention and memory, it is possible and even recommended to cultivate the five senses: the sight, hearing, smell, taste and touch. This culture is a good asset to success and happiness. By paying attention and concentrating on what you hear, you will be always surprised to notice other details that had gone unnoticed. In fact your hearing is sharpened and becomes more receptive to the sounds of your environment; more receptive to the sounds and the meaning of the environment. This was for the mechanical part of the hearing. However, we want to invite you to another kind of listening. A listening linked to the heart and true intelligence: the ability to listen to yourself and to others. Many people hear but do not listen. To listen means: to allow the sounds or the words to reach the heart and intelligence. This is how someone passes from the ability to hear to the ability to listen. Then it becomes possible to better understand the meaning and scope of a message. The total meaning of a message is revealed. The opportunities to succeed and be happy are better understood. To listen well also means: to learn to listen to oneself. When someone learns to listen to himself, an inner voice will tell him what to do in order to succeed and taste happiness. Next time you will have a conversation, try not to form an opinion or criticism immediately. Try not to think of an answer, while you listen. Instead, let your vis-à-vis speaks. Let his/her words touch your heart, your soul and your mind (mental, intelligence). In addition to better understand the height, depth and length of what he/she says, I am sure that this person who is speaking to you will be very happy that you let him speak. In your willful silence, that person will see a great talker in you; someone with whom it is delightful to talk. Your answer will fit his/her point of view. And you'll be good friends. Of course, the point here is not about if you agree or disagree. To listen silently to someone, doesn’t mean that you denied your opinion or accepts his/her opinion. Your goal is to understand what he/she wants to say. Listen to him/her. For a moment, leave your prejudices and your perceptions aside. By listening so, you will be able to better understand him/her; you will be able to better express your views; convince, persuade. Be aware that many misunderstandings are due to prejudices and false perceptions, among others; following a poor listening. 6. Learning to observe well, health-of-mind Sight can and should be educated. When one learns to observe with attention and concentration, "hidden" details become obvious. That is it for the mechanical part of the sight. What we have said about the art of listening can be transposed on the art of observing. Now, let’s make an effort to observe properly. To observe properly means: to observe with the help off all other senses (hearing, smell, taste, touch; and the sixth sense). Many people look but do not see. And many people, who see, see only through the eyes of their prejudices and opinions... The result? They do not see, or they think that they see (which is the same thing). To observe carefully means: to observe with the help of our emotions, sentiments and intellect; with practice it is possible to observe carefully. Silencing our point of view while we are observing can help to see further; to see clearly. This is how it become possible to pass from observation to the ability to scrutinize. It becomes easier to seize opportunities that lead to succeed and happiness. A sight well-trained penetrates things and people. This kind of sight searches and finds what is "hidden": The hidden treasures. The inner sight can read a temper; establish relationships between facts and lead to victory. When someone learns to listen and see, he/she grasps opportunities easily. "Chance" smiles to him/her. Mistakes are avoided. The meaning and scope of things and facts become clear. Their meaning and scope appear in a new and useful aspect. Their beginning and there are encompassed and bring victory. Observing well means also: to know how to observe. By listening and scrutinizing our environment and ourselves, we develop our creativity. We discover our inner and outer treasures. Observing well means: to observe with our imagination. It's the creative imagination. While listening and scrutinizing, ask yourself how you can use the fruits of your research to improve your live and the live of your neighbors. 7. It is not a flash of wit. I know, I know ... Earlier we said that: to intensify the willpower, it is necessary to have the will to intensify it: "Wanting to want." You remember. It was the section: How to intensify willpower practically. The art of learning can be learned. Nothing mysterious about that. Someone who wants to learn, must learn to know himself and other people. "Know thyself." Know your strengths and weaknesses, your possibilities and limitations; know your intellectual faculties; know what kind of memory you have; learn to develop your own methods of work.
