1. The importance of good digestion
Digestion begins in the mouth. That's true. Digestion begins during cooking. This is also true. But digestion starts much earlier than that. Digestion begins with the sight of food; the smell of food also has an influence on the digestion. How come? You will ask me. Well, when we see attractive and well presented food (see below the section on food symbolism), digestive glands begin to secrete their substrates. These chemical substrates are thus ready to start the digestive process well before we start to eat. This chemical anticipation by our glands, promotes better digestion; wee see all the importance of attractive and well presented of food. The same logic goes for the smell of foods. Foods that give off good aroma, promote good digestion. Offensive odor can block the digestive process. Repugnant and / or stinking food doesn’t contribute to feed us well. Such food may even cause illness. The regularity of digestion depends also on the attraction, the smell and taste of food. Good digestion means: good sleep, harmonious temperament, good mood, and more energy. Never forget what you will read: indigestion causes nervousness. Good digestion helps to avoid the accumulation of toxins; to avoid diseases like: stomach ulcers, colon cancer, hemorrhoids, diverticulitis (diverticular disease). Constipation is a silent scourge. Constipation can be avoided by a rational and balanced diet. Cereals, fruits and vegetables should pervade your diet. Half of your meal should be composed by fruits and vegetables. Review the Table 1: Canada's Food Guide. Fruits, vegetables and grains facilitate your digestion and keep you healthy; because they contain dietary fiber. Bran, lentils, canned plums, beans (white, red and brown), brown rice, semolina, and so on, are very rich in fiber. These foods help you have regular stools (3 times a week, on average, is fair enough). Drinking enough water also facilitate the digestion. But do not drink too much water while you eat. (2 to 3 glasses is ok). Because, drinking too much water during meals dilutes the digestive juice. Drinking enough water between meals helps eliminate toxins (free radicals, urea, waste, etc.), and help the rehydratation process. To facilitate your regularity... easy: • Eat a lot of foods rich in fiber (fruit, vegetable, cereal). See the link above: Canada's Food Guide. • Avoid chemically processed foods (boxed food) • Avoid chemically refined foods (boxed food) • Avoid white flour, white sugar, white bread, and so on • Eat garlic daily • Focus on natural sources of iron. Revisit: www.CentrumVitamins.ca (English, French) • Yogurt, kefir, and so on, help digestion • Take multi-vitamins and minerals (not too much) • Drink at least 5 to 7 glasses of liquid daily • Fight stress, nervousness, depression, and so on. (Soon, we will give you some practical advises in the section: Health of the mind. See the page Health of the mind (mental, intellectual) And in the section: Emotional health See the page Emotional health (feelings, emotions, sentiments) • Practice a sport; 15 minutes daily, 3 times a week • Nutritionist or dietitian can also advise you • Etc. Good digestion can help overcome acne. When you digest well, you evacuate well. Then you feel light, very light, full of drive and energy. Try it, you will see for yourself. For those who can not chew, they can find fruits and vegetables in liquid form; and also powdered protein (meat) mixed with carbohydrate (sugar) and lipid (butter and animal or vegetable fat).
Some toxins, cigarette in particular, cause indigestion. A non smoker takes care of his health. Smoking is very dangerous for the body, soul, spirit, emotions and interpersonal relations. Smoking disturbs the sexuality (impotence and frigidity). Smoking depresses the mood. In addition to deprive someone of useful energy, smoking can induce neurosis and expose to countless cancers. The harmful effects of smoking are numerous. Read again the section above: Foods and substances to avoid or moderate. There you will find special information on the dangers of smoking and how to quit. As already said, by combining psychological and biological efforts, victory is easier. That is why, in addition to these judicious advices, we offer some natural products to help quit smoking. Please, click on the nav-bar: Miracle-Provision. Let's say roughly that and attractive food, well presented, with relaxing smell, subtle flavor that flatter our nostrils and palate open our appetite. Our appetite being opened, our body secretes abundantly its digestive juices; which facilitate our digestion. Having good digestion is also a way to take care of your health; and hence to be in the best possible conditions to be victorious; to have success and enjoy happiness! 2. Eat without exaggeration Eating without exaggeration is a smart way to eat. It means to ponder; to be sober. A thought says: "Eat to live, not live to eat." It is a wise saying. Isn't it? Eat to live means to provide our body with the quantity and quality of food needed to stay alive and enjoy life. Tables 1, 2 and 3, above, give us a good idea regarding the meaning of quantitative and qualitative values of foods. Please, consult them again. Live to eat means: not to ponder. This could lead to greed and gluttony. A door opened to diseases such as diabetes and obesity, among others. Because, by eating to much someone store more calories (energy) than needed. This misjudgment is harmful both for health and wallet. But most importantly, to overeat is not the best way to be victorious. Hence, the importance of being sober and carefully monitor everything that enters the body. A healthy body is necessary, in order to see opportunities, seize them and turn them into successes. Very soon you will read few words about obesity, diabetes and their dangers. 3. Eat slowly By eating slowly, you give more time for oral digestive enzymes to do their valuable work. Take your time to eat; chew each mouthful very well; slowly. Chewing well helps the digestive process, and therefore facilitates evacuation. To evacuate perfectly means to evacuate easily and regularly. Well digested food is more nutritive, because it will be easily absorbed. It is true that rich nutrition, well-balanced, which provides good portions of fruits and vegetables and whole grains, will facilitate the digestive process. Revise Table 1: Canada's Food Guide. above. Ones must be able to defecate easily and regularly. Easy defecation saves precious time. Why waste too much time "at the small corner", while evacuating waste. Time is precious. Wisdom says: "Time is money." So, let's save time by allowing our body to ease digestion and defecate quickly. let's save money by avoiding useless medication. It is important to know that: to eat quickly, is wrong way to eat. Eating hastily, lead to indigestion. Poor digestion is a source of frustration, bad mood, fatigue, skin diseases, bad breath (see the section below: Body care), cancer, and so forth. Let's save some money, because proper digestion after proper mastication and proper nutrition allow us to avoid health professionals. 4. Eat in a calm and good mood All the benefits that we have listed in the previous section: Eat without exaggeration, and the section: Eat slowly, can be found here. Eating in a calm and good mood amplifies these benefits. Eating in a noisy environment is not only disturbing, but can cause improper digestion. The source of the noise can be natural or cultural; a conversation or loud roar of automobiles, for examples. But the noise may also be the sound of an internal conversation. It is important to have a peaceful mind before starting to eat. However, if you have to talk with guests or family members, then, let the conversation be peaceful and worthy of praise. Background music, soft and smooth, well-orchestrated, also helps promote a healthy diet. There is a direct link between the senses and stomach. Peaceful mind promote good nutrition and good digestion, therefore: good health. Eating in a calm and good mood helps the digestion and the assimilation of foods. While eating, it is not the proper time to talk about: the bills, the impending call of the collection agency, a revenge to take, and so on. This is not the time to read or watch all the miseries of the world. Doing so may lead to indigestion. With your family or guests and with yourself as well, try to avoid sensitive issues such as: economy, politics and religion (spirituality). We develop these three themes farther, see the important web page: Human relations. But if it is essential or urgent to address such issues, then adapt these conversations to the taste and intelligence of the family or guests. Why upset the family and guests and upset yourself at that precious time? Eat with joy while holding a tasteful conversation, intensifies the palatability of food. It increases the pleasure of eating; a pleasant dining table, dining room and dishes increases also the pleasure of eating. See below the section: Food symbolism. By following these delicious tips, you will increase your digestive capacity and take full advantage of all the virtues of foods consumed. You will benefit all the energy virtues, vitamins, minerals, and so on. The food that you eat, will give you the physical and mental strength needed to overcome obstacles and become successful. In a word: victory. Eat without exaggeration, eat slowly, eat in a calm and good mood, here's another three valuable suggestions to apply, for anyone who wants to be victorious; victorious over himself and his environment. 5. Chew solid foods The quality of teeth is crucial for success. Good teeth, strong and well planted, is a major asset for anyone who is running toward victory. In the current language, we talk willingly about: "being armed to the teeth"; or "sinking one’s teeth into success and happiness". Those expressions are very timely, because good teeth are already a sign of an imminent… eminent success. We know that for some reason or another, someone may have to wear a denture. But our remarks remain valid. Since, the function of the prosthesis remains the same... Very seriously; there is a direct link between good teeth, good digestion, good health, success and happiness. And many advantages that we have cited in the following sections: Eat without exaggeration; Eat slowly; Eat in a calm and good mood; can be found here. Chewing solid foods, helps fortify teeth. By eating solid foods such as nuts, hazelnuts, almonds, peanut seeds, and so on, we somehow massage gums and fortified them. It stimulates dental nerves and gums bloodstream. To chew chewing gum has also the same effect, its fortified gums and teeth. Food well chewed will be better digested and assimilate. As a result, it becomes possible to draw all the energy and chemicals nutrients of foods. This allows you to be filled with force and vigor, ready to overcome all kinds of difficulties. We will come back to the importance of good teeth in the section: Human relations. But first, if you want to bite into the lives with beautiful teeth, here are some suggestions for overcomingstreptococcus mutans (the bacteria responsible for tooth decay) and streptococcus intermedius the bacteria responsible for deep-seated purulent infections). Suggestions on how to obtain and keep good teeth; beautiful appearance of the teeth: • Brush your teeth (at dawn, after each meal and before bed) • Use dental floss. It helps prevent dental caries • Have a regular visit to your dentist (1 every 3 months). For a routine visit and a general cleanup. • Take multi-multi-vitamins and minerals (supplements of vitamins and minerals). Because they contain: fluoride, calcium and vitamin C and D. Vitamins and minerals are very important for the health of teeth and bones. See Table 3: Vitamins and Minerals. • Do not smoke, because smokers are four times more exposed to gingivitis and periodontitis (formerly known as Pyorrhea alveolaris); these diseases can bring down teeth. Poor teeth may also lead to: cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, pneumonia, respiratory disease, cerebral vascular accidents (stroke), complications during pregnancy, preterm labor, preterm delivery, and so on. • On a more aesthetic point of view: to bleach teeth. Teeth whitening ("teeth bleaching") is possible. Products can be found in stores. Your dentist or hygienist can help. • Etc. 6. Vary your foods
We will be rather brief in this section. In fact, it suffices to mention that: by varying your food, you will draw all the nutrients that nature provides us with. In its wisdom, nature has diversified food, and given to each food specific properties; and this, for our greater good. This intelligent distribution contributes to the proper functioning of our body, soul, spirit and emotions. Consider carefully: Table 1: Canada's Food Guide; Table 2: The energy value of foods; Table 3: Vitamins and Minerals. To get a clearer idea of the importance of the subject: to vary you food means to take care of your health; it confirms your desire to be victorious. 7. Focus on fresh foods, raw vegetables and natural foods Fresh foods, raw vegetables and natural foods are better for your health. Because they still contain all their virtues and their energy. Excessive cooking denatures foods and even removes some essential vitamins as vitamin C (sensitive to heat). Steaming is recommended, because steam process reduces the denaturing process of foods. Moreover, steam cooking helps avoid the consumption of too much fat. Consuming too much fat can be a source of obesity (see below the section on obesity). Too much fat can lead to clogging of the arteries and cause heart attacks; to say the least… Natural foods (organic) contain no chemical fertilizers, hormones, pesticide, herbicide, insecticide, etc. Natural foods are often more expensive, but between you and me: "What is the cost of good health?" The value of good health is inestimable. Investing in your health is an investment in your success and happiness; your victories. 8. About alcohol, coffee, tea and chocolate In small quantity, alcohol can stimulate appetite (appetizer) and facilitate digestion. But in large quantities, alcohol paralyzes the body and the mind; in addition to expose someone to diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and so on. In small quantities, alcohol can lift the mood and give courage to someone. In unreasonable quantity, alcohol is detrimental to the health and may even lead to death. Common sense guides us regarding the meaning of small and large quantities. The most important thing is this: whoever wants to succeed in life must be very careful about everything that enters his body. Again, the word temper takes its full meaning. Self-control, is the keyword. We will develop the concept of self-control, in the section: Health of the soul. See web page: Health of the soul Regarding coffee, we know that it is a powerful stimulant; physical and cognitive stimulant. The active ingredient of coffee is caffeine. Coffee accelerates intellectual functions and keeps awake. For myself, I am quite sensitive to coffee. I know what I have to drink in order to stay awake. But I know people who drink coffee (not decaffeinated) before going to bed and fall asleep right away. And they sleep well... So? Coffee is an aphrodisiac for some people. See our note on aphrodisiacs in the section: Sexuality ♥ But for some people, a certain amount of coffee causes stress. And this stress can lower libido and sexual abilities. Two to three cups of coffee per day is quite sufficient. Some doses of coffee can cause insomnia, nervousness, irritability in some people. Too much coffee can increase heart beat rate, cause cardiac arrhythmias and palpitations, increase urination (coffee is a diuretic), cause diarrhea and headaches. Each of us has an individuality of its own. With caution, each of us should do his own experiences and draw his own conclusions. For those who like the taste or smell of coffee, but do not support its effects, decaffeinated coffee is available to them. Take note that decaffeinated coffee still contains caffeon / caffeol (almost same properties as caffeine). Indeed, coffee is not essential to the proper functioning of the body. One can avoid coffee without suffering from malnutrition. Click on the following link and see the chemical composition of coffee (100 g): www.fineli.fi/food.php?foodid=900&lang=en As you see, coffee does not contribute decisively to health. We can live without it. Nervous and insomniacs should not drink too much; because for them, coffee may acts as a stressor and causes sleeplessness, anxiety and anxiety. Be aware that excessive consumption of coffee reduces the amount of iron in the body. Iron helps fix the oxygen on red blood cells. This means that a decrease in iron concentration leads to a decrease in oxygen and a decrease of energy. That is why heavy coffee drinkers are sometimes tired; since oxygen is one of the key components involved in food digestion (food transformation). Here is the equation: too much coffee = less iron; less iron = less oxygen; less oxygen = less food transformation; less food transformation = less energy; less energy = less... From an aesthetic point of view, coffee tarnishes the enamel of teeth. Of course, today teeth whiteners are sold in stores. And to conclude with caffeine, here's a true story. During a stay in France, I visited an average family. While we talk during dinner, the father of that family told me the following: "My children never go to bed early. And even when my wife and I force them to go to bed, they spend long hours to play and chat before falling asleep." That father was obviously very bothered; concerned about the fact that these children would get up early in the morning to go to school. When I had observed the soft drink that was the joy of these children, I told him: "My dear friend, if you wish that your children go to bed early and get up early, they should not drink Coca-Cola in the evening. That soft drink contains caffeine." I had to explain to my guests that caffeine acted as coffee (caffeine is the active ingredient of coffee). I relate this story because I know that somewhere… About tea, we suggest drinking green tea. It is an antioxidant. This means that green tea eliminates blood toxins known as oxidants. Some properties of tea are close to those of coffee (powerful physical and cognitive stimulant, accelerator of intellectual functions, keeps awake, aphrodisiac. Teeine is the active ingredient of tea. Two to three cups of tea per day is more than enough. Again, we must use our common sense and show moderation. In this battle for life, why be imprudent to the point of being controlled and overcome by a dependence on cigarettes, drugs, alcohol, coffee, tea or any other beverage, food and substance. Click on the following link and see the chemical composition of green tea (100 g): www.fineli.fi/food.php?foodid=937&lang=en "Green tea is a treasure trove of benefits for your health."
Chocolate. Ah, chocolate! The last but not the least. Chocolate is the besetting pleasure. Turn to chocolate to uplift your mood, gain energy and speed up your intellectual functions. Chocolate is a sweet friend. Turn to him to flatter your palace.
My God it is delicious! Aztec nicknamed it: The drink of the gods. The active ingredient of chocolate is theobromine also known as xantheose (250 to 500 mg, average for 100 grams) and caffeine (70 mg for 100 g); they confer tonic and stimulant properties to chocolate. The world chocolate comes from the Mayan word «chocol» for «hot», which the Spaniards combined with the Aztec word «alt» for «water». So chocolate means: «hot water». These are few properties of chocolate: • Energetic and tonic. 100 g of dark chocolate bring 520 calories. 100 grams of milk chocolate bring 540 calories. • Rich in magnesium, iron, phosphorus, calcium, potassium and sodium. • Contains theobromine and caffeine that confer its tonic, stimulating and anti-stress properties. • Antidepressant, exhilarant, creates a state of well-being and better resistance to pain (serotonin and phenylethylamine). Phenylethylamine increases sex drive (aphrodisiac). • Prevents oxidative damage (aging), participates in the elimination of "bad cholesterol" (LDL), prevents arteriosclerosis and atherosclerosis. • Important source of major minerals and elements; contains fiber (good for the digestion). Helps to remove gallstones. Balanced source of vitamins. • Contains low concentration of cholesterol (1.3 mg, for 100 g.). Cocoa butter contains fatty acids that have favorable effect on "good cholesterol" (HDL): oleic acid (mono-unsaturated fatty acid) has property to lower the levels of LDL (bad cholesterol, atherogenic) without lowering the HDL (good cholesterol, protector). • Cocoa butter also contains stearic acid (a saturated fatty acid) which has the property of turning into mono-unsaturated fatty acid once in the body. • Do not cause migraine; contains tyramine (an amine, which plays an indirect role in the stimulation of the sympathetic nervous system.) • Do not cause allergies. Chocolate is not an allergen. But some authors have classified chocolate as rare allergen (0.8% of 383 adults may be allergic to chocolate); it is quite logical knowing that some manufactured chocolate contains peanuts, nuts, and so on. • Nourishing, stimulating, digestive. Helps fight cold and flu, consumption, diarrhea and cholera. • Etc. "Chocolate is a treasure trove of benefits for your health."

9. Fasting
Fasting is primarily the act of willingly abstaining from some or all food, drink, or both, for a period of time. There are two kinds of fasting: absolute fasting and partial fasting. Fasting also includes two powerful social symbols. Read the section below: Food symbolism. Absolute fasting is practiced for mystical reasons (religion, yoga, etc.) or social reasons (protestation: Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King, Nelson Mandela, etc.). Absolute fasting induces a high thinness. In this case, the duration of survival is 10 to 45 days on average. Partial fasting may be the result of precarious social or financial situations, a famine caused by natural or artificial disasters. Fasting is not only reserved for religious practice. Fasting is not only for believers of the ancient and modern times. Yes, it's true that fasting is still a part of religious practice (Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, etc.). In that situation, fasting is a way to mourn and approach God. Regarding nutrition, fasting gives to your digestive system the opportunity to rest; stomach, small intestine, large intestine (colon) can then take a well-deserved break. Fasting also gives to your digestive system the opportunity to be cleaned. This natural cleansing should not be neglected, for anyone who wants to take care of his health. We advise you to consider this "rest-cleansing" very seriously. We will give you precious advice regarding body cleansing and colon detox. Sometimes we fast for 12 hours or more; during our fasting, we drink a lot of water at the same time (partial fasting). Fasting is an excellent way to cleanse the liver, kidneys, blood, and so on. A cure of fruits, vegetables and water is also an excellent way to cleanse the liver, kidneys, blood, and so on (targeted fasting). After fasting, we are always invigorated, full of energy; our mind is clear and we are ready to accumulate more success. But before you decide to fast, for whatever reason, we advise you to seek the advice of a health professional: nutritionist, dietitian, doctor or pharmacist. Anyway, if you fast, you will be rejuvenated. A renewed energy will allow you to intensify your activities. You will be ready to face all sorts of challenges; such as working with a bossy person. In French the expression: To be full of energy, is literally translated as: «Péter le feu» (To fart fire). So if I may, you will "fart fire", literally and figuratively; because fasting gives the digestive system (and the entire body), the opportunity to regenerate. Indeed, your body will regenerate and say: «Thank you!» Flatulencies in the stomach may be a sign of good digestion; but stomach gas is often caused by poor digestion or lactose intolerance. Lactose is milk sugar. Lactaid or another product can help avoid stomach flatulencies due to milk and dairy products. www.LactAid.com A health professional can help. Fasting is a powerful tool for a serious detoxification. Fasting can contribute to cure some sicknesses. Here are some suggestions for you, if you plan to fast: • Seek advice from a health care professional: nutritionist, dietitian, doctor or pharmacist. • Choose a time of fasting and set your limit. You can fast 1 day, 1 week, or more (absolute fasting or partial fasting). • If you have never fasted before, we suggest you fast 1 day. During that day, drink plenty of water (add sugar); or drink water and eat dark chocolate bar (partial fasting). • Over time, increase the number of days; always taking into account the advice of a health professional. • You can also choose a targeted fasting. That is to say: eat only fruits and vegetables, and drink plenty of water. We advise you to fast time by time; because fasting will detoxify your body and contribute to a healing process. In addition to being a powerful tool for revitalization of the body, soul and spirit, fasting allows you to rediscover the joys of gastronomy, if you like food as I do. The poet said: "Fasting likes silence, doesn’t over-consider wealth, despises pride, boasts humanity, allows mankind to acknowledge its weakness and its fragility." He said the thru. We add this: "Fasting also keeps us healthy." 10. Few words about obesity, diabetes, hypertension and their dangers We chose these three diseases because they are widespread in our society; especially in rich countries. We chose them because they are diseases related to diets (of course, genes, environment, etc., can also be a cause). In addition, obesity, diabetes and hypertension are interconnected. That is to say that obesity can lead to diabetes, which in turn can cause hypertension. Health and body weight are connected (it is important to have a healthy body weight. Obesity is the hypertrophy of adipose tissue, causing an excess of body weight. Calculate you ideal weight with this formula: P = T-100 - (T-150)/4 P: is your ideal weight or calculated weight, in kilograms T: is your size, in centimeters If after calculating P, your actual weight exceeds that P by 10%, then there is obesity. Whew! Ok what does this mean? Don't worry. I will give an example, my own example: P = 185-100 - (185-150)/4 P = 85 - 35/4 P = 76,25 Kilograms. Let's round it: 76 kilograms. Now. My actual weight is 84 kilograms. The difference: 84 Kg - 76 Kg = 8 kilograms. If (76 Kg x 2) is 100%; 8 Kg is 5,2% Since: 5,2% < 10% My actual weight doesn't exceed my calculated weight by 10%. Therefore, I am not an obese; according to this formula. But this formula is to be handled with caution. There is a difference between overweight and obesity. To be certain, the better way is to talk with a health professional. NB: Take note that this calculation was made in 2008. Because with time... There is another way to find if you are an obese. The keyword is body mass index. You will discover the relation between body fat and health. Go to: Body Mass Index We know now that there is a link between body weight and health; and as already said, and also between health and body fitness Let us continue. Android obesity is obesity of men. The chin, neck, thorax and abdomen are particularly affected. Gynoid obesity affects the lower abdomen, buttocks and thighs of women. It is not uncommon to notice, in both sexes, the handlebars of love (tender excess of adipose tissue that round hips). Obesity is a serious disease; the risk of death among obese increases. At 45 years old, an overweight of 11 kg decreases chances of survival by ¼. Here are some negative impacts of obesity: • Cardio-respiratory system: the heart is loaded by fat tissue. The deposition of fat (atheroma) in the arteries generates a coronary insufficiency. The obese lose its breath quickly and risk a heart attack. • The digestive system suffers. The overloaded liver and gallbladder are working overtime. They get tired easily, with all the damaging consequences that may result. • Joints and articulation of obese deteriorate quickly, and also the vertebrae of the lower limbs. • Obesity can lead to orthopedic problems. • Diabetes is common among obese; because their endocrine glands are affected. • Possible impotence. • Obesity can lead to snoring during sleep. • Possible female and male infertility. (L carnitine and sexuality) • Probable preterm labor, preterm delivery. • Etc Have a good health. Your natural health. Lose weight quickly and naturally. Yogic Slim - 5,000 Year Old Formula for Weight Loss! As you can see, obesity is not a light matter. This is not a play on words. Not a pun at all. Obesity can result from poor nutrition (excessive eating), head injury, glandular disorders, heredity or neurosis see the section: Health of the mind (mental, intelligence), and the section: Emotional health (feelings, emotions, sentiments).
Be aware that unharmonious emotions may lead to over eating, with overweight or obesity as a result. Not eating enough might induce underweight or cachexia (thinness). As far as we are concerned, we want to show how to avoid obesity, because it is a serious handicap for anyone who wants to be in possession of all its resources; in order to win. The treatment of obesity is the responsibility of health professionals: nutritionist, dietitian, physician, pharmacist, and so on. But beware! An important psychological and mental dimension is to be taken into consideration. Mind, body and health are also linked. That is why the goal of our method is also to fortify the soul, mind and emotions, as we shall see later. Diabetes is a generic term covering several diseases that have in common: the increased volume of urine, with urinary leakage of a organic substance (usually sugar). The normal blood sugar ranges between 0.70 and 1.10 grams of carbohydrate per liter of blood. Above 1.30 g / liter, there his diabetes. Diabetes can result from poor diet, but could also be caused by organ damage or genetic poll. Diabetes is a very dangerous disease. Its complications include: alteration of the blood vessels, nerve tissue, eye, skin, kidneys; but also arteritis, myocardial infarction, cerebral atherosclerosis, diabetic coma, hypertension, and so on. There are several types of diabetes: • Diabetes mellitus • Renal diabetes • Diabetes insipidus • Bronzed diabetes We want to say it in a simple way. It is enough to know that a healthy lifestyle, healthy diet (quantity and quality of foods); healthy mind and emotions can greatly help prevent some forms of diabetes. Since body and mind are interconnected. Hypertension (A.H.T.) Is the increase in blood pressure in the arteries. But there are also: • Portal hypertension (for the portal vein) • Intracranial hypertension (in the skull) • Hypertension of the eyeball (glaucoma). As we reported earlier, this is a disease that is sometimes the logical outcome of obesity and diabetes. Hypertension is defined by figures of more than 16 centimeters of mercury to the maximum (systolic blood pressure), and 9 centimeters of mercury for the minimum (diastolic blood pressure). These figures are averages. Complications of hypertension are: heart failure, kidney failure, loss of visual acuity, etc. It is very important to understand that: hypertension obesity and diabetes can be prevented or cured, when you take care of your physical and psychological health. That is to say, when you understand the importance of a healthy lifestyle, and follow healthy diet. Regarding hypertension, a healthy lifestyle can help you; which means: reducing consumption of coffee and tea, alcohol, quitting smoking and using drugs. To apply the science of nutrition means: to follow a diet reduced in salt, fat and sugar; it also means: to avoid overwork and disappointments with the help of the methods we will show you in section: Health of the mind (mental, intellect) and section: Emotional health (feelings, emotions, sentiments). Being hypertensive, obese or diabetic may impair your ability to be victorious and happy. "Obesity like diabetes and hypertension can be prevented, controlled and defeated."
11. Increase your strengths through the science of nutrition
The human body at rest, 12 hours fasting, spends a certain amount of energy. This energy is used to keep the body alive. It's the basal metabolism. This basal metabolism varies according to: gender, size, age, level of activity, occupation, condition, and so on. But the daily average is 1500 calories. To this figure we must add: 150 calories for ADS (energy needed for digestive function), 250 calories for thermoregulation (to keep the body temperature at 37 degrees centigrade, in a temperate region), and 600 calories for muscular work (walk). The total energy is 2500 calories/24 hours; it is the maintenance ration. Above, we have already apportioned these 2500 calories as follows: • Lipid: 69 grams x 9 calories = 621 calories • Protein: 100 grams x 4 calories = 400 calories • Carbohydrate: 400 grams x 4 calories = 1600 calories These 2500 calories are your daily maintenance energy. If you do not provide this amount of energy to your body, daily, it will use your energy reserves. Then, you will function in slow motion. The question is this: is your daily diet contains 2500 calories? That is what we are going to see together. Be sure to have a good nutrition book. You will find one at a library or a bookstore. Or use the table that we proposed earlier. Table 2: The energy value of foods. Food Journal Now, let's set up you Food Journal. During the day (24 hours), note carefully what you eat and drink; specify the amount of each food ingested and the volume of each liquid drunk. Then with the help of Table 2 or a nutrition book, calculate the amount of energy (calories) you have consumed during that day. For example, if the Table 2 indicates that someone has eaten 33 grams of protein (meat) throughout the day. So, by virtue of the fact that each gram of protein contains 4 calories, that person has consumed: 33 grams x 4 = 132 calories. Of course, this is only an example. If you need help with these calculations and evaluation, we look forward to hearing from you. Click on the navigation bar and use our form Contact Us. Did you consume 2500 calories/24 hours? If so, bravo! If not, then you need to adjust your diet. You need to eat foods rich in energy. It is obvious that physical workers, intellectual workers, sportsmen, and so on, need more than 2500 calories per 24 hours. Some foods are full of energy. They help you maintain a healthy body, soul, mind and emotions. These foods can easily cover your energy expenses, and even provide you with extra calories that will make you very strong. The optimal functioning of the body, soul, mind and balance of emotions depend of the amount of calories absorbed every day. It is difficult for a tired person to be victorious. An exhausted person won’t run towards success efficiently. Here are some foods rich in energy. Just go through the following four points: • Simply talking, see Table 2: The energy value of foods, above. You can see letters from A to Z. Select the desired food's initial. For instance, select the letter A for Apple. By carefully studying that table, you will notice that there is a list of foods. And for every 100 grams of food, the table gives an energy value (number of calories). More calories in a food, means more energy in that food. Such food gives more energy and strength. • Let’s illustrate our point. In the part titled: sugar, 100 grams of dark chocolate provides 528 calories; while 100 grams of sugar provides 385 calories. So, dark chocolate is richer in energy than sugar. The table does not specify if this is brown or white sugar. But we know that brown sugar is better for your health. Brown sugar is more natural. Another example. In the part titled: cereals and derivatives, 100 grams of toast provide 389 calories. While 100 grams of white bread provide 253 calories. So, toasted bread will give you more energy. By the way, brown bread is better for your digestion, better for your health. For the same reason given above. Personally I eat brown bread, 100% whole grain, twelve grain; I fell good. And finally, in the part titled: fruits, 100 grams of dried dates provide 274 calories. While 100 grams of walnuts provide 651 calories. You be the judge. :) • See? Each food has different amount of energy. Of that, I let you select your food according to your needs. The table 2 is wonderful because it also gives food composition; composition in: minerals, carbohydrate, protein, fat, vitamins, oxalic acid and purines. • In fact, your goal is simple. Simply choose foods that are rich in calories. In order to be fortified physically, intellectually, spiritually, psychologically and sexually. Table 2 brings you some of those foods, but you can do your own research. To complete this section, please also read the section above: Energizing foods and miracle substances. 12. Air and water quality Like the food we eat, air and water are of paramount importance. The air people breathe and the water they drink should be pure and clean. Alas, this is not always the case; especially in this century (21), where pollution is gaining ground. As a microbiologist, we have seen and experienced these realities very well. The damage to health can come from particle, or molecule: breathed (airways), absorbed (gastrointestinal tract), or contacted (skin, conjunctiva -mucous membrane-). Many people neglect the quality of air and water that goes into their bodies, either through ignorance or through negligence. And yet the quality of the air you breathe and the water you drink is critical for your welfare. Your health, successes and happiness depend on it. Air Quality Breathing is one of the most important functions of the body. It is not possible to live without breathing. The breathing process supplies oxygen to our body. The brain is a huge consumer of oxygen. There is a direct link between good oxygenation of the brain and the proper functioning of memory. Providing the proper amount of oxygen to the brain means: a better functioning of the brain; this optimizes the learning and memorizing process; it also facilitates the remembering process. Read the farther section: Increase your strengths through the science of breathing. Here is the composition of the air. Dry atmospheric air contains: • 21% of oxygen • 78% of nitrogen (azote) • 1% of argon • 0.03% of carbon dioxide (CO2) • Some traces of noble gases: krypton, xenon, and so on Oxygen is the only element essential to life. On average, we need 10 liters of air per minute. The polluted air of big cities (and tobacco too), disrupt brain functions (memory, concentration, judgment, and so on.). Dust, microbes (viruses, bacteria, fungus) and chemicals are mainly responsible for air pollution. Atmospheric dust particles contain inorganic iron, silica, coal, earthy substances (wear pavement), and radioactive particles (from the atomic explosion and factories). The atmospheric dust contains organic waste tissue, debris from plants and animals. Arsenic dust, lead and copper are very toxic. Benzene dust, mineral oil and dust from tar factories are carcinogen. Coal particles in the air act like small peaks knife. They cut the lung tissue and stay on it; disrupting oxygen flow, disrupting brain functions (memory, concentration, judgment, and so on). In 24 hours, 200,000 cars release about 40 million cubic meters of carbon monoxide (CO) and 530 million cubic meters of various gas. These harmful gases may induce cancers, anemia ... These gases are responsible for the weakening of the will and memory; they cause headache too... By endangering health and life, polluted air does not put someone in an ideal condition; if someone wants to fight and be victorious. So what can be done? Well, avoid air pollution of big cities. Stay away from polluting factories (petroleum refining, lime kiln, cement, enamel, steelworks, bleaching paper). Or get a device that will filtrate and ionize your air. Ionization of air means that: air is charged with negative ions. This process is made possible by solar ultraviolet rays, cosmic rays, radioactivity of the soil, lightning, heavy rain, waterfalls, by the passage of the wind through the pine needles, and so on. During a storm, air is charged with negative ions. The proportion of negative ions in air is a factor of safety of that air. Here are few approximate concentrations of negative ions at different places: 2000 ions / cubic cm after a storm 750 ions / cubic cm in the countryside In big cities, polluted air contains about 50 ions / cubic cm 10 ions / cubic cm in a car Smokes and gaseous pollutants diminish the amount of negative ions in the atmosphere. These smoke and gaseous pollutants increase the amount of positive ions in the atmosphere. However, negative ions in the air have beneficial effects on health. Negative ions: • Increase blood oxygenation • Eliminate toxins • Increase the vitality of the body, the soul and spirit • Harmonize emotions • Improve memory • Reduce physical and mental fatigue • Fight impotence and frigidity • Increase sexual desire • Ease human relations • Improve eyesight • Increase the speed of reflexes • Regulate the central nervous system functioning • Regulate the vegetative system functioning • Regulate the endocrine system functioning • Regulate the immune system function • Are the best defense against germs • Destroy harmful viruses and bacteria • Increase the respiratory system defense • Give psychic euphoria • Facilitate sleep • Fight allergy • Fight hypertension and some neuroses • stimulate organs and the digestive process • Fight angina pectoris • Relieve phthisic (phthisis) and asthmatics • Etc. According to some therapists, a significant improvement of: asthma, hay fever, angina, sinusitis, chronic bronchitis were possible after inhalation of negative ions.
In your struggle for life, in your race towards success, it is necessary to be healthy. It is therefore necessary to have an ionizer. This electrical device produces negative ions, which are important aids in your struggle for success. We have already realized the importance to filter the air we breathe. Some devices can filter, ionize and even humidify the air we breathe. To this end, we have made some suggestions. But you can also do your own research. Water quality Water body is colorless, odorless and insipid. Its molecular formula is as follows: H2O. Hydrogen (H2) and oxygen (O). Pure water is composed of hydrogen and oxygen. Water accounts for 70% of the body. «Human body is a water drop...» :) But more seriously, water is very important; because it comes in almost all chemical reactions in the body. Without water, life is impossible. This fact is true, both in the animal and vegetal kingdom. Hygiene ensures that drinking water is pure (safe), and that sewage is properly disposed of in mass graves and sewers. Water is considered "pure" if it contains less than 1000 germs per milliliter. Those germs may be: colibacillus, bacillus, perfringens bacillus, streptococcus (streptococcus feacalis). Water should not contain parasites. Hydrometric technique measures the concentration of calcium and magnesium in water, in order to know if the concentrations of these metals are normal. Hydrometric technique also measures the concentration of lead that come sometimes from pipes, as lead intoxication is very dangerous (lead poisoning). The presence of ammonia in water is a reflection of putrefaction. The presence of phosphates and sulfates is a reflection of pollution caused by urine or feces. That technique also measure chlorine concentration; chlorine is used to purify water, but it cause a disagreeable taste in the water. To be healthy and remain healthy means: to drink and use clean water. Since your goal is to be victorious, you want to keep a robust health; a health that will lead you to success and happiness. Before their use, any water should be purified. Rainwater should be filtered. Their methodical treatment is a top priority. The purification of water produces drinking water. To purify water means: to remove limestone (softening of the water), to remove germs (harmful viruses and bacteria), to add liquid bleach (which will then be neutralized by the hyposulfite). You can purify water with the ozonation process, but it is expensive. The techniques listed above are those of some municipalities. However it is possible and even advisable to purify and filter your water at home. Here are some practical suggestions: • Boil water at 100 degrees centigrade (212 degrees Fahrenheit). • Add liquid bleach. Be careful. Bleach for domestic use (4 or 5% sodium hypochlorite) is effective. Add two drops (0.1 ml) of domestic bleach for a liter of water; loosen the capsule, shake and let stand for 30 minutes. Double the quantity of liquid bleach and duration, if water is cold, moody or foul. • Use appropriate filters sold on the market. • By clean water sold on the market. • For more details, go to Health Canada website: www.HC-SC.GC.ca And search for: Air quality; Water quality. The first two methods mentioned (boil water, add liquid bleach) are useful to people who live in remote areas and can not benefit from a municipal water treatment, or who can not afford to buy water filters. In conclusion, we advise you to drink and use clean water. Buy water if needed. We even advise you to filter municipalities’ water. Your health is linked to the quality of the water that you use; your success and happiness are linked to your health. Air pollution, water pollution, soil pollution, etc., are some of the issues of the 21 century. These serious problems are endangering the very survival of the human race, including animals, vegetables, etc. That is why we must welcome the meritorious work of environmentalists, the Greens who create awareness of the environment. Not to mention a few organizations such as Greenpeace, those following links are their websites: www.GreenPeace.org Green Peace (English, French) If you have a green soul, then you know what you have to do... :) 13. Food symbolism These few words about food symbolism, somehow crown our words on the culture of nutrition. Food symbolism is also linked to eating behavior. It motivates your tastes and food choices. And hence influences the physical, mental, emotional health. Food symbolism is a component of relationships with oneself and the entourage. See: Human relations. Eating means also: entering into a relationship with oneself and others. We want to have good relationships with ourselves and our surroundings in order to maximize our success and happiness. Food symbolism, linked to eating behavior, is also a component of success and happiness. Hence, the importance of this section of our conversation. Here is our plan: A) Some definitions B) The symbolic value of foods C) Personal symbolism D) Food symbolism and family ties E) Food symbolism and social ties F) Food symbolism and libido G) Food symbolism and spirituality A) Some definitions
Behavior: etymologically, CUM PORTARE, indicates an action of an entire person when reacting to external and internal stimuli. The stimulus is actually a complex evocative symbol, a generic symbol. Behavior is the way an individual is and react in a given environment Alimentation: introduction of foods in the body; introduction of anything that feeds. Alimentation is also the way these foods are introduced. Symbol: an abstract model of a reality. A symbol is a structure that human intelligence can not entirely control, but in which it outlines the theory. Before you continue your reading… your study, observe carefully the following diagram. We titled it: The circle of food symbolism. ...SYMBOL (foods)---lead to---SENSATIONS (collected by the 5 senses and more)---lead to---PERCEPTIONS (integration into the psyche, mind)---lead to---THE INFLUENCE OF AFFECTS (myths and symbols)---lead to---THE INFLUENCE OF BEHAVIOR (choice of the type of foods)---lead to---The DETERMINATION of HEALTH (physical and psychological)---lead to---SYMBOL (foods)---and the circle starts again... B) The symbolic value of foods Foods produce different sensations. Those different sensations determine the nature and the culture of foods. The shape and the look of what you eat can be a system of attraction or repulsion towards yourself, your entourage or your environment. And consciously or not, people always link what they eat or drink to someone or something. The emotional tone of a food can be found in its form and presentation; but also in its color, texture, taste or smell; of course. There is a pleasure in the eating process. And the pleasure of eating influences health status. Please review the section on food entitled: Eat in a calm and good mood. C) Personal symbolism Each of us seeks in its food type, the type of person he (she) is or would like to be. The "Photosynthetic image" of those who do not eat meat, may evokes the image of a Greco or some oriental religions. The "photosynthetic image" of big meat eaters, may evokes the image of the industrial world. What you would like to be or will be, could be find in the kind of food you cherish. To observe carefully the type of food you eat, is another way to go deeper into you subconscious. To discover the layers of your unconscious, will reveal your-self to yourself. And hence will place you in the ideal conditions to win the battle for life. The poet said: "Know thyself." It is true. Please read the section: The conquest of the unconscious (subconscious). See this page: Emotional health (feelings, emotions, sentiments) D) Food symbolism and family ties It is in this very simple rite, around a family table, that emerge two images; two images that form civilizations; and psychoanalysis teaches us that: without them, it is difficult to have a personal harmony. Foods take a symbolical value. That value combines it own quality to the quality of those who give that foods to us (mother, father, wife, husband, stores, companies, etc.) The need to eat (and the eating process) become the support and the messenger of the family, friend, activity, profession. It is in these social cells that people shape their inner freedom and successes. The meaning and the scope given to a meal influence the form, presentation, color, texture, taste, and smell of food. The importance given to a meal intensifies the biochemical reactions and nutritional values of food. The following triad (mother, father, food), strengthens family ties. Food symbolism is also linked to human relations. Food symbolism and family ties are also factors to be considered, in the research and preservation of the physical and psychological balance; hence, very important for your success and happiness. "In society, every serious thing is done around a table."
It is true. E) Food symbolism and social ties Food shared remains one of the three fundamental social ties (mother, father, food). Sometimes people said: "I know him well, we had a lunch together." The eternal gesture of hospitality (to accept someone as a friend or a member of family), is to break bread together. Many words remain abstract or inhumane, until they have been exchanged in this natural communion: a meal. People who always eat alone may undermine an important component of their overall balance and harmony. The reader understands the importance of food symbolism and social ties related to its personal success and happiness. F) Food symbolism and libido The body has concentrated human tensions in its genital but also in its sexuality and its deep psychology. In part, men or women efforts to satisfy themselves and to satisfy their partner are located there. Because of that concentration (location), the working capacity of the body has increased considerably; its capacity to adjust as well. The genital and the deep psychology of an individual, are managers who run the company of erotic discharge in the whole body... Food symbolism is also linked to the libido (sexual pleasure, sexual energy, love in a wider sense). Foods, in their symbolism, induce the principle of pleasure. It is well known that a balanced and healthy libido results in stamina (vigor, resistance) and fulfilling sexuality. To this end, read the section: Sexuality ♥. In your struggle for life, you want to be strong and victorious. One of the most important components of the success and happiness is the harmony of the sexuality. And this is possible when someone understand the strong links between the food symbolism and libido (sexual pleasure, sexual energy, love in a wider sense). Foods, in all their symbols, induce appetitive reactions and consumption reactions. A marriage well consumed (this is not a play of words) lead to pleasure, relaxation and happiness. I do not know if you are like me, I am always amazed when I see the forms and structures of the creation. Nature masters the art of combining forms and structures. Some fruits and vegetables seem to play with the imagination (apple, cucumber, banana, carambola, and so on.) These fruits and vegetables spark thoughts. You agree. Don’t you? Consider... It is true that a change in structure may impair a function. But modifying a function does not necessarily modify a form… I dream one day to write a book titled: The Humour of Nature. G) Food symbolism and spirituality Through the choice of our food, we are looking for a general type of feeling that matches our spirituality. The search for those sensations, embodies the desire of our states of mind regarding the absolute. Our beliefs and thoughts influence our food type, and vice versa. This is how our food type takes, spiritually, naturally, a value much deeper than their nutritional and gastronomical value. This is how your food type contributes to your spiritual growth, and your spiritual growth contributes to your food type; hence to your success and happiness. The poet said: "To know if it is God who is acting through us, it is better to be assessed by our outside behaviors than inside behaviors." We add this: "To know if it is God who is acting through us, it also better to be assessed by our inside behaviors and our outside behaviors." Read the section above: Fasting. And the following topics economy, politics, religion (spirituality) at the section below: Human relations And that will complement this. The symbolic aspect of foods or the symbolical value that you give them in the society determines your personality, your family ties, your social relations, your libido, and your spirituality. Hence, your success and happiness. “Tell me what you eat, and I will say who you are.” In open conclusion regarding this nutritional part, let’s say that the climate in the country where you live, your natural talents, your genetic heritage (genetic poll), your profession, your activities, etc., should guide you regarding the quantity and quality of foods to consume. Here, as elsewhere, common sense must be taken into consideration. So far we wanted to give you a brief summary of what constitute a healthy diet; a rational diet. A healthy diet is directly related to your ability to win this race towards success and happiness. One way or another, do not hesitate to talk with a nutritionist or other health professional dietitian, doctor, pharmacist. Contact us if you want to get more details on one point. 14. A thought for our friends: vegetarians and vegans A vegetarian is a person who does not eat meat, poultry, fish and seafood. But a vegetarian can drink milk and eat dairy products such as yogurt, cheese, eggs. A vegan is a person who does not eat or use animal products and their derivatives. If you will allow me this picture, vegans are the radical branch of vegetarianism. Some details: A semi-vegetarian: eats a limited amount of white meat, fish, poultry, eggs, dairy products. A lacto-ovo vegetarian: eats dairy products and eggs. A lacto-vegetarian: eats dairy products. An ovo-vegetarian: eats eggs. To all our friends: vegetarians and vegans, we say this: make sure all the amino acids (AA) are present in your diet. Because plant proteins do not provide the following amino acid: lysine. Complete proteins are proteins that provide us with all of the essential (indispensable, necessary) amino acids. Plant proteins are incomplete proteins. Please read the section below: * The amino acids, purine and pyrimidine bases in memorization. The best solution is to seek advice from nutritionists, dietitian, doctor or pharmacist, to help you establish your diet. This point is crucial, because a diet that lacks essential nutrients necessary for good health could make someone ill. And consequently, prevent succeed and happiness. Let us say it, it's very important: "In order to enjoy good health, the body needs a specific daily quantity of: vitamins, minerals, lipid (fat), carbohydrate (sugar), protein (meat), all 20 amino acids including 8 amino acids essential (indispensable, necessary) to life)." A lot of fruits, vegetables and water are an excellent way to cleanse the liver, kidneys, blood ... Even if you are not a vegetarian or a vegan, a cure of fruits, vegetables and water cleans the organs and systems of the body; in addition to facilitate your digestion. Such a monthly cure will boost you. With new vigor and energy to resell, you will be always on the move. From victories to victories. Vegetarians often need supplements to compensate for inadequate intake of vitamins B12 and D, calcium, zinc and iron in their diets. Vegetarians and vegans must make sure to consume enough iron. Iron is an essential mineral that has the property to: • Help the formation of red blood cells (RBC) • Help RBC to transport oxygen from the lungs to the rest of the body; less oxygen means less food transformation; less food transformation means less energy; less energy means less... • Help the brain and the rest of the body to function properly There are two kinds of iron. Hemic iron (from meat, fish, seafood). And non-hemic iron (from cereals, fruits, vegetables, eggs). Hemic iron is better absorbed by the body. Vegetarians and vegans run the risk to consume the proper quantity of iron. And so, run the risk to:
• Be tired • Have trouble concentrating • Suffer of failure to breath, and lack of energy • Be irritable • Etc. Vegetarians and vegans should talk with a nutritionist to help them establish their diet. But we know that vitamin C helps the absorption of non-hemic iron. We also know that drinking tea or coffee with meals reduces the absorption of non-hemic iron. Talking about coffee above, we developed this: Too much coffee = less iron; less iron = less oxygen; less oxygen = less food transformation; less food transformation = less energy; less energy = less... You remember. Don't you? We talked about vegetarians and vegans, but the following can reduce the amount of iron in the body; if someone: has abundant menstruation, avoids red meat, skips meals, doesn’t eat enough, doesn’t eat properly (quantity, quality), drinks tea or coffee during meals.
